DAI’s Bottom Line:
Akavar 20/50® is a European weight loss pill which claims to be the only diet supplement that reduces caloric intake automatically. It’s a variation on the appetite suppressant theme. The company’s slogan is “Eat all you want and still lose weight”, and that should raise some red flags, and that apparently happened as Akavar is currently being investigated by the Federal Trade Commission for unsubstantiated medical claims which could possibly result in a class-action lawsuit. Akavar 20/50’s website offers very little product information and does not list a customer service phone number. As always, be very careful when you order from companies that do not put their phone numbers on the website. If they’re hiding from you, it probably has something to do with the product they just sold.

1. Eat frequently and eat slowly. A safe and healthy way to lose weight is to eat smaller meals and to eat frequently throughout the day. This keeps your body’s metabolism working. Eating slowly gives our bodies time to tell us that they are full before we’ve eaten more than we need.

2. Eat more raw fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Eating unprocessed foods, fruits, vegetables and whole grains is best for your metabolism and will help aid in weight loss. If you do exercise, make sure it is on a regular schedule and participate in both aerobic and strength building activities, so your body will begin to burn calories at a higher rate even after you’re done exercising.

4. Take it easy. When you are starting a new diet and exercise program make adjustments slowly and at a rate that your mind and body can work with. Sudden changes to diet and exercise are more likely to put you in a state of shock leading to discouragement and failure.
