The Claims:
Hydroxycut® is a weight loss supplement designed with clinically proven ingredients to help increase energy, burn calories and control appetite. This product uses ingredients like garcinia cambogia to control cravings, gymnema sylvestre to balance blood sugar levels and green tea extract to provide energy. Hydroxycut® promises to help dieters lose 4.5 times more weight than just diet and exercise alone.

The Directions:
We must admit the directions are fairly confusing. The bottle appears to contain 60 caplets, but when you review their supplement facts, a serving size is 2 caplets, and each bottle contains 150 servings. So are there 60 caplets or 300 caplets per bottle?

The Price:
$85.93 per bottle. As mentioned above, we simply can not tell from the website if this is a one month or a 10 day supply.

DAI’s Bottom Line:
Unlike most weight loss supplements, Hydroxycut® seems to have done their homework. There are no ridiculous back stories of CEO’s wives watching Oprah and coming up with a supplement in their kitchens. There are clinical studies which have been included online and powerful testimonials. While it sounds effective, it is definitely not very flexible. They have strict guidelines for meal times which may not be possible for most consumers. For such a well-researched product, this is one of the worst websites we’ve encountered. Besides the confusion over the quantity, there’s also the small problem of figuring out how to order. You have to find the simple text link buried on the bottom of the page that will then take you from their website to someone else’s. In addition, this is a very expensive supplement and at that price, it may have a hard time meeting up with your expectations.

However, you can make small incremental changes to your lifestyle to increase the amount of exercise you do such as taking the stairs instead of the escalator and walking instead of driving to local destinations. Try picking up an exercise routine to do at home if you do not have time to go to a gym. If you do exercise, make sure it is on a regular schedule and participate in both aerobic and strength building activities, so your body will begin to burn calories at a higher rate even after you’re done exercising.

4. Take it easy. When you are starting a new diet and exercise program make adjustments slowly and at a rate that your mind and body can work with. Sudden changes to diet and exercise are more likely to put you in a state of shock leading to discouragement and failure.
